Emma's Place

Emma's Place provides permanent affordable housing for homeless single-parent families with three or more children. Last year, Emma’s Place served 21 women, two men and 105 children. All were low income and homeless, 68% had mental illness and 30% had chemical dependency issues, while 30% had both MI/CD issues. Of those residents that left Emma’s Place during the year, 80% moved into more independent living situations. After school tutoring and summer programming is provided in partnership with the school district and volunteers. Emma’s Place has a strong collaborative partnership with Independent School District 622, especially with Webster Elementary and John Glenn middle school and with Hamline University
